The GRAN HOTEL CATALONIA is located in the heart of the Eixample district in Barcelona. The hotel is strategically located close to the key Gaudi Modernist buildings, in the best shopping and services area of the city. All 84 rooms provide guests with everything they need to feel comfortable, such as direct dial telephone, piped-in music, minibar, interactive satellite TV with pay-per-view movies, Canal +, safe deposit box, air conditioning, complete marble bathroom with direct dial telephone, hair dryer, just to name a few of the hotel´s amenities. The hotel has 6 different rooms to hold conventions, meetings and wedding banquets of up to 400 people. It also provides parking facilities within the hotel itself. Diverse Aktivitäten
You can take a tour of what was once the Medieval city until its walls fell in the mid 19th century. Your best option is to start your sightseeing route in the Gothic quarter, where you can visit the Cathedral and the History Museum of the City. You can then head towards the Ribera quarter where you will see one of the most original Gothic churches: Santa María del Mar. Next to it you will find the Plaça del Born (Born Square), where jousts and tournaments used to be held in the Middle Ages. You can then take a walk along Montcada Street and have a look at the countless palaces from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Picasso Museum is located in the same area. |
